PLANT-BASED PIZZA SHOWDOWN

Toronto friends, this one’s for you! On Thursday, March 14th, celebrate Pi Day (3.14) with a taste of your favourite plant-based pizzas as we engage in some friendly competition.

Watch as Chef Christina Zoubos of Virtuous Pie, Chef David Lee of Planta Toronto, and Chef Rocco Agostino of Pizzeria Libretto face-off for the bragging rights of Best Crust, Most Creative, and/or Best Presentation.

Each month, our creative culinary team in Portland comes up with a feature pizza available exclusively in Portland. This month, we’re keeping up with the Nashville Hot Chicken trend, and creating a plant-based pizza twist of our own.

Virtuous Pie Vegan Grant Program

Virtuous Pie is all about creating a positive change in the world. Part of that means giving back to our local communities, to help the animals, the planet, and the environment. We are committed to connecting with our community and supporting causes that align with our vision and values.

That’s why we are so excited to share our VEGAN GRANT opportunity. We’re giving away $1000 in each of our communities to 3 plant-based pioneers to help get their ideas up and running!

HOW IT WORKS:

• Nominate yourself, or nominate a friend.
• What we want to know: who you are, what you’re doing, and why you’re doing it.
• Our teams will vote on their 3 favourites; one in Vancouver, one in Portland, and one in Toronto
• We will start accepting submissions on Monday, March 11th (you’ll be able to submit your nomination here)
• You have until April 5 to submit your nomination
• Winners will be announced on April 15th

Our Community Gives Back

Our community means everything to us, and we want to take a moment to recognize a particular individual for her generosity and thoughtfulness. Sarah Kim was randomly selected as the winner of a $100 Virtuous Pie gift card for completing our Customer Feedback Survey.

Rather than accept the gift card for herself, Sarah generously chose to donate $100 worth of pizzas to WISH Vancouver, an organization that helps improve health, safety, and well-being of women who are involved in Vancouver’s street-based sex trade. We happily matched her donation, and dropped off $200 worth of pizzas and garlic knots to WISH on Friday, March 1st to help serve meals to 75 – 100 women.

Thank you so much Sarah, the women and whole team at WISH were so grateful and we are so proud to have been a part.

UBC IS ONE!

We can’t believe our UBC location is already one year old! We celebrated on Thursday, February 28th with all day deals, a live DJ, prizes, and more. Thank you to everyone who came out to help us celebrate, we can’t wait for what year number 2 has in store!
